Get a Library Card

If you live in our service area, you may get a library card free of charge, as part of your tax-supported library service.

Your library card allows you to:

  • Borrow books from us and from most other public libraries in Illinois.
  • Use special online collections to find magazine articles and information you can't get just by searching the web.
  • Use our computers.
  • Access downloadable audiobooks and ebooks.

To get a library card, please bring a photo ID (driver's license, state ID, ).  If your ID does not show your current address, please also bring proof of residency, such as a bank statement, utility bill, or lease.

Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present to register for a library card.

If you live outside of a library district and need a Bradley Public Library card, a family non-resident card is available for a yearly fee of $135.00.  This fee does not apply if you have a library card from another library.  Bradley Public Library honors library cards from member libraries of the Prairie Area Library System including Bourbonnais, Kankakee, Limestone Township, and Manteno.

Lost, Missing, or Stolen Cards

You should report a lost, missing, or stolen card immediately to the circulation desk.  Materials checked out on your card become your responsibility.  The replacement fee for a lost card is $2.50.  Proof of residency is required at the time of issuance.
